For a long time I have felt that people, no matter what their age, should have a reliable method of contacting emergency help. This was dramatically proven when my active 95 year old sister-in-law, living alone, 3000 miles away, sustained a fall in her home. She was able to use her "First Alert" by pressing the button that automatically alerted a designated neighbor to call for an ambulance. It was fortunate that she was taken to a hospital quickly, where it was found that she had bleeding and edema in her brain. Without the rapid delivery of care she might not have survived. I would urge people, living alone, to have one of these medical devices to be used in the event of a medical emergency.

I would like to take this time to thank you for your service. I feel you give the sick and elderly peace of mind when they live alone. Knowing that help is on the way with just a push of a button. Your service also affects their love ones or caregivers knowing if they are away they will be contacted in the event they are needed.
In November of 2005 this happened to me as I was the caregiver of my brother-in-law Hershel Daved. On Thanksgiving morning I was called and told that Herschel had activated the alert button that he wore, and he needed help. I was told that the ambulance was on the way. Herschel was transported to the local hospital. He had suffered a major heart attack. Because of your service he survived and was released from the hospital the day before Chistmas.

I am writing to tell you how pleased we were with the operation of your medical emergency system that I ordered for my 86 year-old mother-in-law, Georgia Bouldin. I easily installed the system on Friday, April 25th. Two days later on Sunday the 27th, my mother-in-law activated the pendant she had around her neck. The system worked efficiently and the nurse at the retirement center where she lived arrived within minutes. A 911 call got immediate response and an ambulance took her to the hospital she had designated. She was diagnosed with a heart attack and placed in ICU. Tuesday morning Mrs. Bouldin had another massive heart attack and passed away.

But in the midst of our grief we were comforted by the thought that she got immediate medical assistance when she desperately needed it. It is conceivable that she could have gone unattended for hours before her plight was noticed by the staff. Thank you so much for your professionalism.
